A diabetologist is a doctor who specialises in the treatment of metabolic diseases directly related to carbohydrate metabolism (e.g. diabetes).

Dermatologists consult patients with problems of the skin and its appendages (hair, nails).


A vascular surgeon treats vascular diseases.

Surgeons qualify patients for operative treatment in hospital, e.g. in the case of varices of the lower limbs, the gallbladder, or abdominal hernias.

An angiologist is a doctor who treats and diagnoses diseases of the circulatory and lymphatic system.

Allergists consult patients with allergic diseases (e.g. asthma, rhinitis, conjunctivitis, hives (nettle rash), food and drug hypersensitivity, sensitisation), qualify them for specific immunotherapy (desensitisation) and conduct such therapies during scheduled appointments.

A visit to an ophthalmologist is associated with an interview, prescription of medications or referral for ophthalmological examinations.
