Orthopaedist - consultation

Orthopaedist consult patients with diseases and injuries of the motor organs.

During the consultation, an orthopaedist:

• takes the patient’s history and performs an orthopaedic examination;
• makes diagnoses;
• provides medical recommendations;
• prescribes drugs;
• issues medical referrals for tests and examinations, consultations, and hospital treatments;
• issues sick leaves.

During the appointment, an orthopaedist may also remove sutures and apply a dressing.

A consultation lasts 20 minutes.

Orthopaedic consultation – telemedicine

Orthopaedist is a doctor who deals with diseases of the musculoskeletal system, with particular emphasis on health problems of the spine and limbs. Diagnoses, treats, refers for rehabilitation and conducts actions to prevent the occurrence of diseases and damage to the musculoskeletal system and the resulting neurological and circulatory complications.

During the consultation, doctor:

• obtains a medical history,
• diagnoses the patient,
• gives medical recommendations,
• prescribes medication,
• may issue referrals for examinations or consultations:
  • in the case of consultations carried out by Medicover - referral for consultations or tests to the Medicover Center;
  • in the case of consultations carried out by the Medicover Hospital, referral for consultation to the Medicover Hospital, and for tests to the Medicover Hospital or Medicover Center,
• issues sick leaves.

Important information: If the patient performed tests at the Damian Medical Centre, the doctor has insight into the results. During the telephone consultation, the doctor will perform all services that are possible to perform by phone. During the a conversation with a doctor it may turn out that a stationary visit will be necessary, without which it will not be possible to make the correct diagnosis and choose the treatment. The visit time is approximate - the doctor will contact you within one hour of the scheduled visit (as many as three attempts will be made to connect with the patient).
