Standing X-ray of Both Feet – AP and Lateral Views
In addition to the basic purposes of the examination (such as visualising injuries, joint sprains, heel spurs, degenerative changes, necrosis, or tumorous lesions) the examination, thanks to the non-standard standing position, allows for a detailed analysis of foot deformities. These include: hallux valgus (bunions), hallux rigidus, hammer toes, metatarsal deviations, and flat feet.
Preparation for the examination
No special preparation is required. Footwear and socks should be removed, and the lower legs uncovered above the ankle joints. Depending on the referral, the patient must position themselves appropriately for the examination.
Important information
- Patients referred from outside the Medicover network are expected to present the referral in a printed form.
- Patients referred for the examination following an in-person visit at Medicover have either present a paper referral or ask for it to be printed at the reception desk.
- Patients who had a teleconsultation at Medicover are asked to inform reception that the referral was issued electronically.
X-rays are not recommended during pregnancy. Any X-ray performed on women of childbearing age should ideally take place within the first 12 days of the menstrual cycle (unless the doctor advises otherwise) to eliminate the risk of complications from a possible pregnancy.
Please note! A printed referral is required to carry out the examination.
