During a consultation, a hearing aid specialist diagnoses hearing loss by carrying out audiometric tests, selects a hearing aid and adjusts it to the identified condition and the individual needs of the patient. Hearing aid selection is intended for individuals aged 6+.
The hearing test, performed by the hearing aid specialist, consists of:
- a medical interview with the patient,
- a hearing test – pure-tone audiometry (used to identify hearing thresholds), and, in the case of hearing loss, also verbal audiometry (used to measure the speech recognition threshold),
- an impression of ear canals (a cast) – for the purpose of selecting a hearing aid,
- selection of a suitable hearing aid.
If hearing loss and the need for hearing aid are identified during the test, the hearing aid specialist offers the patient a hearing aid trial.
Hearing aids are rented free of charge for a period of one week.
Patients can purchase any hearing aid with a subsidy from the National Health Fund.

The visit’s duration is 20 minutes, and it does require any special preparation.

- For PLN 1.00, you can undergo a hearing test, performed by a hearing aid specialist, who will determine whether you suffer from hearing loss and, if you do – select a hearing aid tailored to your needs.
- You can test your hearing aid for 7 days – free of charge.
- If you decide to buy a hearing aid, you can take advantage of the National Health Fund subsidies and the possibility of a hire purchase.
- You have the opportunity to consult both an ENT specialist and an audiologist at aa single visit – at a selected Medical Centre.
- For three years, you can receive free service for your hearing aid: maintenance, adjustment and fine-tuning of your device.
