You should consult a psychologist when you observe the first troubling symptoms, including persistent low mood, feelings of fear, anxiety, sadness, insomnia, constant fatigue and drowsiness, and loss of appetite. A psychologist participates in the diagnosis and treatment of depression, neuroses, phobias, and addictions.

A consultation with a child psychologist is advisable if a child shows abnormalities in their mental development, significant changes in behavior, emotional difficulties such as low mood, aggressive behavior, uncontrollable outbursts of anger, excessive crying, anxious behavior, or when parents and caregivers need support with everyday issues that might affect the child's mental state.
