Scope of the package
In the MALE HORMONES package, 8 blood tests are performed from a single blood draw:
- Testosterone – the key male hormone, responsible for:
- libido and sexual function,
- muscle mass and strength,
- bone density,
- red blood cell production,
- energy levels and concentration.
Too low: causes reduced libido, energy and muscle mass, fatigue, low mood and impaired fertility.
Too high (naturally high levels are very rare): may increase health risks such as hypertension, stroke and myocardial infarction; may lead to difficulties with emotional control, increased irritability and impulsivity, and reduced fertility.
- Prolactin – indirectly affects libido and fertility.
Too low: rare and usually without clinical symptoms.
Too high: may cause reduced libido, erectile dysfunction, decreased testosterone levels and fertility problems; often associated with stress or medication use. - Oestradiol – a “male oestrogen”, important for bone health, metabolism and regulation of libido.
Too low: may reduce bone density and negatively affect wellbeing.
Too high: may be associated with obesity, gynaecomastia and reduced libido. - FSH (follicle-stimulating hormone) – responsible for sperm production in the testes.
Too low: may indicate pituitary dysfunction and reduced fertility.
Too high: may suggest primary testicular failure. - LH (luteinising hormone) – stimulates the testes to produce testosterone.
Too low: may lead to testosterone deficiency and symptoms of hypogonadism (e.g. reduced libido, erectile dysfunction, low muscle mass, breast enlargement).
Too high: suggests impaired testicular function. - TSH (thyroid-stimulating hormone) – regulates thyroid function and indirectly affects metabolism and energy levels.
Too low: may indicate hyperthyroidism.
Too high: may indicate hypothyroidism, often associated with fatigue and weight gain. - Free thyroxine (fT4) – influences metabolic rate, heart function and the nervous system.
Too low: may indicate hypothyroidism.
Too high: may indicate hyperthyroidism. - Prostate-specific antigen (total PSA) – a marker of prostate conditions.
Elevated: may indicate benign prostatic hyperplasia, inflammation, or require further diagnostic evaluation for prostate disease.
When should the tests be performed?
Hormonal tests in men can be performed on any day. Blood collection should take place between 8:00 and 9:00 a.m., as the levels of certain hormones change throughout the day.
Why is it worth choosing the MALE HORMONES package?
You will find out what is happening in your body. Instead of guessing: “Maybe it’s age?”, “Or stress?”, “Or overtraining?” – you receive specific results and a clear basis for further health-related decisions.
Your benefits
- Early diagnosis – enables rapid detection of hormonal disorders.
- Explanation of symptoms – tests help identify the causes of fatigue, reduced libido, decreased physical performance and concentration problems, as well as changes in muscle mass and body weight.
- Thyroid function monitoring – TSH and fT4 measurements allow assessment of proper thyroid function, which is crucial for metabolism, energy levels and overall wellbeing.
- Prostate disease prevention – PSA testing supports early detection of prostate abnormalities.
- Support for treatment – a complete set of results helps the physician select appropriate therapy.
- Time and cost savings – one package and one visit instead of multiple tests and appointments, leading to faster diagnosis.
