Qualification for the EndoRNA test

Did you know that according to WHO data, as many as 1 in 10 women of childbearing age may struggle with endometriosis?

The EndoRNA test is for women who have:

• pain that adversely affects every day functioning (e.g. pain during menstruation, intercourse, urination or defecation, pain in the sacral area),

• chronic nausea, constipation, diarrhoea,

• suspicion of endometriosis,

• a long-term problem with getting pregnant.

Untreated endometriosis can even lead to infertility. It is estimated that about 35% of patients who have problems getting pregnant have already been diagnosed with endometriosis, have suspected endometriosis or were diagnosed with this disease while looking for causes of infertility. That is why it is so important to diagnose the disease quickly, especially in women planning pregnancy.

Benefits of performing the EndoRNA test:

• saves time - qualification with the possibility of performing the EndoRNA test during one visit (the test and procedure are additionally payable),

What is involved in the qualification process for the EndoRNA test?

During the qualification, the gynaecologist will: take your medical history based on medical records provided by the patient, order additional tests, if necessary, after qualifying the patient, the doctor will perform the EndoRNA qRT-PCR test (the test and procedure are additionally payable and can be performed during the qualifying visit).

If the patient is not qualified for the EndoRNA test, the cost of the qualifying visit is not refunded.

NOTE! The patient should come for a visit in the second phase of the menstrual cycle, which is after ovulation and before menstruation. Please bring your current medical records with you to the appointment.

The sample cannot be taken from a pregnant woman.

The price of the qualifying visit does not include the cost of the EndoRNA test and the test procedure (sample collection). The cost of the EndoRNA test and the test procedure (sample collection): from 1 990 to 2 200 PLN depending on the city.

Test results

The waiting time for results is about 2-3 weeks. Medicover will contact you to arrange a teleconsultation with a gynaecologist who will discuss the test results with the patient over the phone.

Due to non-specific symptoms and a number of basic tests, the process of endometriosis diagnosis is usually very long, lasting even several years.

It is possible to shorten the diagnostic path by performing a minimally invasive EndoRNA qRT-PCR test. Endometriosis is a disease in which the tissue lining the uterus (endometrium) appears in other parts of the body, such as:

• ovaries and fallopian tubes,
• uterine muscle,
• vagina,
• bladder and ureters,
• rectum,
• peritoneal or retroperitoneal space.
