The HPV 28 test is a modern molecular test that detects 28 genotypes of the human papillomavirus (HPV). It covers both low- and high-risk types; types 16 and 18 are the most dangerous. HPV increases the risk of developing precancerous lesions and cancer, particularly of the cervix, anus, penis, and throat. The test accurately determines whether the patient is a carrier of the virus and, if so, which type.
The range of detected genotypes:
- 19 high-risk types: 16, 18, 26, 31, 33, 35, 39, 45, 51, 52, 53, 56, 58, 59, 66, 68, 69, 73, 82
- 9 low-risk types: 6, 11, 40, 42, 43, 44, 54, 61, 70
The HPV 28 test is designed for women who:
- lead a sexually active life and have multiple partners;
- plan to start having sexual intercourse with a new partner;
- have had sexual intercourse with a person with a confirmed HPV infection;
- want to get tested to prevent sexually transmitted infections;
- consider vaccination against HPV and want to ensure they are not already infected;
- undergo cervical cancer screening;
- experience abnormal bleeding, vaginal discharge, pain during sexual intercourse or wart-like lesions in the genital area.
Test advantages:
- Detection of up to 28 HPV genotypes, offering a much wider range in relation to basic tests designed to detect this virus.
- Identification of high-risk oncogenic types: including types 16 and 18 which are particularly dangerous, as well as types 6 and 11, which can cause the development of genital warts (i.e. condyloma acuminatum).
- Enabling preventive measures and possible in-depth diagnostics to be taken at an early stage of infection.
- The test is non-invasive, painless and quick.
- It is useful as a pre-vaccination test against HPV.
Symptoms suggesting HPV infection in women include:
- chronic or recurrent vaginal discharge;
- intermenstrual or postcoital bleeding;
- pain during sexual intercourse;
- presence of warts (condyloma acuminata) in the vulva, vagina or anus.

HPV vaccination package (3-dose schedule) for children aged 15 years and older and adults. The vaccine prevents HPV infection. Infection with selected HPV types can lead to the development of cervical cancer, genital warts (condyloma) and cancer of the larynx.

Liquid-based cytology detects about 64% more high-risk lesions than conventional cytology and enables the early detection of human papillomavirus (HPV) infection – the virus that causes cervical cancer. Meanwhile, LBC with HPV-28 genotyping also makes it possible to determine the specific HPV type that can lead to cancer, making it easier to assess risk and increasing the chances of a complete cure.
