Colonoscopy

Colonoscopy is one of the most effective endoscopic examinations, allowing direct assessment of the mucosa of the large intestine using a flexible colonoscope equipped with a camera.

The procedure enables detection of inflammatory changes, polyps, ulcers, and suspicious lesions that may represent early signs of colorectal cancer or other gastrointestinal conditions.

Indications for colonoscopy include chronic abdominal pain, rectal bleeding, recurrent constipation or diarrhea, anemia of unclear origin, as well as preventive screening in individuals over 50 years of age or those with a family history of colorectal cancer.

Biopsy sampling for histopathological examination is available at an additional cost.
