An extended preventive testing package that enables assessment of a child’s overall health. As many as 18 tests performed during a single visit, with just one needle insertion.

The package allows for:

• assessment of thyroid function: TSH, FT4,
• monitoring of liver and kidney function: ALT (GPT), creatinine,
• measurement of glucose and lipid levels: fasting glucose, lipid profile,
• evaluation of overall health: complete blood count and urinalysis,
• detection of deficiencies in key nutrients important for health: iron, vitamin D, vitamin B12, calcium,
• identification of possible inflammation: CRP,
• assessment of anaemia risk: ferritin,

• Lipid disorders – the lipid profile makes it possible to assess cholesterol and triglyceride levels, which is important not only in adults but also in children, especially those who are overweight, have a genetic predisposition, or follow an unhealthy diet. Early detection of abnormalities helps prevent the development of atherosclerosis and heart disease in the future;
• Immune system disorders – it is worth assessing the immune system if a child frequently suffers from infections or has chronic gastrointestinal problems, which may indicate weakened immune mechanisms, increased susceptibility to infections, or even autoimmune diseases;
• Vitamin and micronutrient deficiencies – they can affect the development of the skeletal system, immunity, concentration, mood, and the child’s general well-being. Comfortable blood draw for children

Blood is drawn using a butterfly needle, which ensures safety for patients with delicate and narrow veins. The flexible wings make it easier and more precise to insert, and the long, flexible tubing allows test tubes to be changed without moving the needle in the vein. This method is better tolerated by children. The vein walls are not exposed to damage that could result in bruising or haematoma.

This test package is recommended for children and teenagers (age range: 3-17)

It is especially beneficial for children following elimination diets, those showing signs of weakness or fatigue, or with skin problems or immune-related issues.

How to prepare for the test

Blood testing in children, just like in adults, involves taking a sample of venous blood and analysing it in a laboratory.

1. You should arrive at the collection point in the morning.
2. The child should be fasting (for the youngest children, a light meal should be avoided for at least 3 hours before the test; for older children – at least 8 hours).
3. It is recommended to give the child about half a glass of water to drink before the test.
4. On the day of the test, dress your child in a way that makes it easy to expose their arm.
5. For younger children, it is a good idea to explain how the procedure will go and allow them to bring their favourite toy for comfort.

It's important to know that the tests included in the package can be performed without a referral; however, they should be used judiciously. There's no need to subject a child to the stress of blood collection unless there's a clear reason.
