Optometrist – who is it?

The examination is performed by an optometrist specialising in the correction of vision and fitting contact lenses.

What is included in the package?:

Examination is paid once - at the first visit,
It consists of 3 half-hour visits,
The exam does not require any specific preparation,
The package is dedicated for teens from 16 years of age and adults.

First visit:

The optometrists asks questions about your needs and preferences, your medical history, your lifestyle, type of work and your glasses and contact lens experience,
A detailed eye exam with obtaining all the necessary information to ensure comfortable and safe use of spectacles and contact lenses,
Spectacle prescription with the recommendation of the best ophthalmic lenses for you i.e. distance, reading, PALs, with blue light filter – whatever you need,
exclusion of contraindications to wear contact lenses,
scheduling the second visit and ordering suitable trail contact lenses.

After the exam, our frame stylist will help you to choose perfect spectacle frame and lenses according to prescription provided by optometrist.

Second visit:

contact lens fitting and evaluation – using slit lamp – of the position and fit of contact lens on the eye (whether it does not mechanically irritate the eye, how it behaves on the eye surface when the eyeball moves and when blinking),
instructions on how to insert and remove contact lenses correctly,
instructions on how to clean and care for the contact lenses and eyes,
asking questions to find out whether the patient feels comfortable when putting in and wearing contact lenses and how do they feel,
set of trail contact lenses (the number depends on the type of CLs).

Third visit:

essential for the contact lens fitting success,
happens within few days of trail contact lens wear,
asking detailed questions about the comfort of use,
performing tests to check visual acuity when wearing the contact lenses and mechanical properties of the lenses (checking for signs of irritation of the cornea.

Important info:

You should turn up for the visit no later than 15 minutes before it is scheduled to.
When coming for the examination, please bring the glasses you are currently wearing.
